I submitted this to the Art for Autism project. The composition is based on something I learned about the Autistic while researching for this project. Apparently Autistic individuals take verbal communication at face value and don’t recognize any other verbal or bodily clues. So the spoken message is what is heard and processed without the aid or hinderance of additional meaning through tone-of-voice, body language, physical context, etc. My composition is meant to reflect that.
